תאור
Chassis-based switches DGS-6600 series are intelligent, high-performance, multi-level devices for local and regional networks. This series switches are an ideal solution for applications requiring continuous operation of network applications and a high level of performance, security and management.
Thanks to a flexible modular architecture and industry standard, these switches can easily make scaling the network, and are, thus, a good investment for businesses.
Switches DGS-6600 series are equipped with high-speed switching fabric, enhanced software functions, including support for IPv6. These switches provide high performance, fault tolerance, and are ideal not only for solving the current problems, but also problems relevant in the short term.
High availability
DGS-6608 is equipped with two slots for control modules. Each control module is equipped with its own switch fabric, as well as software, and can be used for redundancy, load balancing and control tasks. Due 4/8 redundant power supplies, are operating under the load, and the possibility of replacing the fan unit in a "hot mode», DGS-6604/8 has a highly available and is ideal for mission-critical network applications.
DGS-6608
• The chassis with 8 slots
• 2 slots for switch modules
• 6 slots for user-selected modules
• Up to 8 slots for redundant power supply according to a 5 + 3
• The possibility of replacing the fan module and dust filter
• Switch fabric 1.152 Tbit / s
Versatile modular design
DGS-6600 series includes two models:
DGS-6604 - the chassis with 4 slots, three of which are used to set user-selected modules. In addition, there are four slots for redundant power supplies, and one slot for replaceable fan module.
DGS-6608 - the chassis with 8 slots. Two slots are used to install control modules with the ability to backup, and the rest - for user-selected modules. In addition, there are 8 slots for redundant power supplies, and one slot for replaceable fan module.
This modular architecture allows for scaling the network by installing additional modules that can be replaced at any time, depending on the requirements.
Using the DGS-6600 switch as the level of aggregation
Through the use of a set of modules with port 10/100/1000BASE-T, PoE, SFP, and 10-Gigabit trunk ports, IT-staff can install a free slot module with different types of ports and use the device as a switch-level aggregation (ie ie distribution), which provides high port density to connect a large number of jobs in the office or in Metro Ethernet networks with a high density of subscriber equipment.
High performance
The switch uses a distributed switching, where each line module (module with the port to connect directly to the network nodes) defines the transmission of each packet. Switches to synchronize information about routing and switching between control and line cards in order to identify the most rapid transmission of data. Through the use of the linear module that performs switching L2/3/4 regardless of control modules, switch DGS-6600 series perform faster transfer package without delay.
High port density
Installing a 4-slot plug-ins, users can get up to 144 Gigabit ports or 48 10-Gigabit, and the 8-slot - up to 288 Gigabit ports or 96 ports of 10-Gigabit. All modules can be replaced in a "hot mode", without having to change the settings in the hardware or software. Using the 96 ports 10GE, works on the principle of non-blocking architecture, making the transition to 10G backbone.
Convergence applications
Switches DGS-6600 series combines advanced features of the hardware and software, such as traffic prioritization (QoS) routing and Multicast, providing thus the applications in real-time applications such as Internet telephony, video conferencing, IP-CCTV and IPTV. In addition, these switches support PoE, providing a power supply and network connection for PoE devices such as IP-phones, and wireless access points. Switches are an ideal solution for large enterprises. An example of the convergence of applications is the use of mobile VoIP-applications through wireless access points that are connected to switches Series DGS-6600.
Support for the IPv6
Switches DGS-6600 series are fully compatible with the networks on the basis of the protocol IPv6. Network
The Internet is constantly growing due to the increasing number of applications that use the Internet, including wireless devices, various equipment for the home and office, the vehicles are connected to the Internet, integrated telephony services, as well as due to the increasing demand for computing and gaming area. Use IPv6 addressing simplifies the mechanisms used to provide comprehensive network security devices. IPv6 support is especially important for applications and services that require a large number of IP-addresses.
Integrated Safety
Series Switches DGS-6600 provides protection not only from unauthorized users, but also prevent the penetration of viruses and "worms." Access protection by means of access control lists ACL, Port Security features and IP-MAC-Port Binding. Advanced security features to protect against malicious attacks disguised as records management and can cause an overload of the central processing unit (SPU) and the decrease in performance. DGS-6600 series enhances security network management, providing authentication and encryption administration with SSH v2 and SNMP v3.
MPLS Features
Series Switches DGS-6600 both support MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching), providing intelligent building next-generation networks, and provides a variety of advanced services within the existing infrastructure. Support functions MPLS allows corporate customers to use services such as point-to-point VPN, VPWS (VLL) and point-to-multi-point VPN, VPLS. This solution can be easily integrated into any existing infrastructure, such as, IP, Frame Relay, ATM, or Ethernet. Traffic is coming through various channels can be aggregated in the boundary segment MPLS, without changing the current configuration access switches, as MPLS is independent of the technology used at the access layer.
Traffic management for Triple Play Services
DGS-6600 series provides a set of multi-level features QoS / CoS, including bandwidth management, based on the flow and protect against broadcast / multicast / unicast storm, ensuring that critical network services like VoIP, video conference, IPTV and IP- surveillance are served with proper priority. Bandwidth control provides guaranteed bandwidth for these services in case of high network load. With the support of multicast Layer 2 Switch DGS-6600 implements the IPTV-processing applications.
Technology D-Link Green
D-Link is a leader in the development of innovative energy-saving technology, not to reduce the performance and functionality of the device. Switches DGS-6600 Series support the technology D-Link Green, which allows the use of energy saving, Smart Fan and PoE on schedule. The power saving function automatically cuts off power ports that are idle. Smart Fan feature provides built-in fan switch at a certain temperature, providing continuous, reliable and environmentally sound operation of the switch. The use of PoE schedule allows the switch to receive information about the activity of a specific port at a given time, and if necessary, automatically disable inactive port.
